We got a big "NO" from the architectural committee on our proposed garage orientation. I can't help but wonder whether they really understood the intention or could visualize it properly. It really does seem like it would work well (reversed from the drawing) against the layout and topography of the lot relative to the rest of the street. We are going to pursue it with them further to see about that.
Perhaps we should have submitted a more finished looking drawing or an elevation or something.
But these things cost money to have done you know.

I'm beginning to think that you will actually have this house finished in time for your retirement party. :-)
ReplyDeleteOur neighborhood charter requires than no garage door is visible from the street when looking straight on. You can also only have a total of three car garage doors... But we'd entertain you as a neighbor. We might have a little pull...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I get it Dave. That's similar to what this neighborhood wants, but when you really look at how the house sits on the street our proposal would actually look better than the one they've already approved.
